The big news here is that we've gotten Alice to stay in our bedroom for several nights in a row! Previously, she had fussed enough that I thought it made sense to take her out to the couch where she and I would sleep together. So yes, I'm congratulating myself on getting out of a problem of my own design. (The motto for parenting?)
Jane has had a lingering cough for ages now but it seems like it's finally on its way out. Thank goodness for that. Andy had a doctor's appointment this morning, so Alice and I walked her into school today. This was our first drop-off (we've done pickup a few times). I don't feel ready to do both yet, but I think I can start doing one of them regularly again.
On Saturday, we took the train to Bath. We didn't pay to get into the Roman baths, but there was plenty of nice-looking stuff to see, and we ended the day with mini-golf, which was not fun for me or Alice, but Jane seemed to enjoy it. We were all tired out by the end of the day.
Sunday was Mother's Day in the UK. We rented UHF on the Xbox and watched it as a family (skipping Emo Phillips' scene). I had some prosecco. It was a nice day. Jane had made me a nice card too.
Starting next week, Jane has two weeks off. We haven't booked yet (and really should!) but we were thinking of sending her to some of the break-time activities in town so I don't have two kids at home on my own the whole time.

Jane was cold and I let her wear my jumper, but she did not want me to take a picture of it. Later in the day we bought the green dino hoodie she is wearing in other pictures. |
