Thanksgiving and beyond

Lately, Andy and I have spending much of our evenings talking about our upcoming move and realizing how complicated it will all be! Lots of moving parts and quarantines to be considered. Very exciting, though!

For Thanksgiving, we made meatballs out of ground turkey and (gluten-free) stuffing mix. Tasty! We also had gravy, Yorkshire puddings (the doughy-cup you see), and an apple cream pie. The recipe came from the blog PostSecret, with someone sharing her grandmother's 100-year-old recipe. She didn't think her aunts deserved to keep it a secret. Tons of people made and shared pictures of it after the recipe was shared, and people have been calling it "Petty Pie." It was good!

Alice crossing these steps at the park! We don't go often because it's getting colder. Plus I hate the sand. :(
A Cider Pope hat
We got Jane this cute duffel coat. And she knows that isn't how to wear a mask!

Andy. He lives here too. <3
The picture didn't even do it justice! This was on our way to school a few days ago.

Going in for a kiss!
A friend gave us a coat her daughter had outgrown. It doesn't *quite* fit Alice.
What do you mean, Mom?

Fall in Bristol

Jane's class made a volcano this week and she wanted to make more lava at home.

Jane had a sleepover with a friend a few weeks ago (before our second lockdown started) and she was so tired the next day she fell asleep like this half an hour before bed.

Andy is still battling a mysterious infection and wasn't able to comfortably stand to shave for many weeks. Just getting down to these mutton chops took half an hour! (They are gone now.)
Andy's PhD advisor Mark sent him this foram mask!
Alice in the toy bunk bed.
Alice in the hamper. She loves to carry them around. And draw on them, when we don't stop her.

Nakey in a box
I'm not sure this is how it works, but I don't drive here...

Alice loves the swings. She sometimes asks to get down and switch to the swing one over. Which is identical.

Smiley Jane

Hold still, Alice...

"Can you smile nicely for these pictures for Grandma?"

Painting

Joe Wicks did a Halloween morning workout on YouTube, so Jane and I dressed up and joined in!
Alice helped.

Alice drawing during some of the Halloween festivities. No trick-or-treating, but we sent Jane with some GF candy to a friend's where they knocked on the doors of the house and received treats.

I love this. The bench says, on the left, "Sad times", which it has said for a while. But the pink, which showed up a few days ago, says "Another world is possible and she is on her way... on a quiet day I can hear her breathing." That is a quote from Arundhati Roy.
As the weather changes, it was time to switch the bag o'hats from summer stuff to winter. Out came the fox hood.
