A baby with a country

Andy and I went to London to get Alice's citizenship and passport paperwork started. Two families from school had Jane over for the two nights so she wouldn't have to miss school. It went well--the embassy visit was successful, the buses were on time, the flat we rented truly existed!

Alice is six weeks old now. Today she has had two big vomits, so I'm taking a risk having a computer on my lap! She seems undisturbed by throwing up, other than the fact that her tummy is then empty. So I guess it's just one of those baby things.

We forget what this was called. A gallery on Trafalgar Square

Alice in the sling. She did great on the trip, and only really started complaining on the local bus to our flat.

I did not like this guy.

One day when Alice leaked and/or spit up on all her jammies and we had to improvise

Live wires within, but don't worry, no one can get in now.

I caught Grandma Mary Lynn smiling for a picture!

Typical Jane. Love her!

... what is it alarmed about?

To whom did people compare their babies before Churchill?

Outside of the forgot-the-name gallery, some nice chalk art where people were encouraged to leave a coin on their flag. I put a coin on Peru (lower left corner) just because it was closest.

Still no comment

A month old

Alice is a pretty easygoing baby. She doesn't sleep as well at night as I'd like. Most nights we end up on the couch together, instead of her sleeping in our room and me in my own bed! But we're working on it.

She's happy in the sling, so I'm able to get out and do things, like take Jane to a playdate or go to a midwife appointment. We've also gone to the library, the store, and gone to pick up a few new shirts for me. I forgot that I won't be able to just wear my t-shirts for a while now! Gotta have easy access for nursing.

Anyway. You're here for pictures.

This is Jane at about four weeks...

and this is Alice. See any resemblance?

You guys don't take pictures of your crying kid instead of comforting them?
