Summer Hols

Three weeks of summer holiday behind us, three to go.

Out for pizza before sending uncle Keith off to the train station
Cuddles (Jane in the background playing foosball)

I, uh... we got them matching hats. I did not see myself becoming this person.

World Breastfeeding Week just passed. Alice likes eating real food (peas, avocado, apples, spinach and oatmeal so far) but milk is her favorite.

 A couple-a monkeys.

"Andy, get over there to take a picture with your brother."
"I'm trapped by a suitcase and a carseat."
"Just lean in awkwardly, then."

Six years, six months, a visit, solid food

Lots has been happening! Jane has turned six, Alice is nearly six months old and has had her first foods, and Uncle Keith is here visiting!

Alice on the floor. She rarely rolls from tummy to back.

The socks my mom knitted for Alice
Jane's birthday crown. What do you mean, it's on wrong?

Purple birthday headphones. And blue hair (that was supposed to be purple).
Alice loves Uncle Keith. And grabbing his beard.

 Out to lunch
Jane making giant bubbles at We the Curious
 Keith's turn
Jane made Alice a sign for her playmat

 APPLESAUCE!

 My face.

Did Amy look behind her? Was it a proposal? Did she say yes?
 Grab your nose, mom?
 And don't let go?
Climbing the rocks at the playground
Alice's first food, peas. It seems like she liked these more than the applesauce.

Summer holiday

Jane's school year ended last week. She gets six weeks off for summer, different than the U.S. schedule. I'm looking forward to not walking 5+ miles a day to/from school for a while, but I'm also suspecting I'll gain some weight during this time!

Alice is finally into something of a pattern of napping during the days. The summer break will help with that, too. A big part of the problem was that she would fall asleep in the carrier on the way back from Jane's school, and then she wouldn't want to nap later. I can even put her down awake for nap!

She wakes up (too) frequently at night, but she is getting better at everything else. This morning we slept until 8:30. And she only woke up at 9:15, 10:30, 1:15, 3:45, and 8:30. She can and will do better--that's our next obstacle to tackle.

 Hi!

Jane's class had an art show. Here she is next to her perspective drawing.

Sleepy Alice. It's time to wake up!

Fifty-one stairs to our flat. Nice sunset views!

 Distracting Alice before bedtime

Posed. She didn't really hurt me!
