June 2021

I'm sure there's an easy way to move the pictures around, but I don't know it. Let's jump around, shall we?

I think this is at LAX, after leaving Grandma and Grandpa's. Fun story: our taxi got overheated and started smoking on the way there, and they didn't have another large vehicle to send for us and our many, many bags, so they had to send us by two taxis, splitting us up with the kids and the stuff and it was a not-unstressful way to start that leg of the journey.

There was a heatwave in Victoria.
It was hot. Also, I was just starting to get over a kidney infection, right up there with the sickest I've ever been.

At least the area we stayed in was beautiful! Airbnb in Victoria.
They had a swing!
So happy to have arrived.

This was the hotel in Vancouver, when they still had the three-day mandatory quarantine for people flying in. I think we stayed there two nights before getting our negative tests.
Packing up (again) from LA, on to Canada.
Jane let Grandma braid her hair. She would let me, too, if I actually could do it.

Jane teaching Alice how to rock out.

Alice on the family drop-bed.

"Huh?"
A warm day, perfect for sitting in a tub.
When in Beverly Hills...

We got Jane two kits for quarantine. This was her using it to build some cardboard stuff for her Switch. She now has a piano, a fishing rod, a steering wheel, and probably more. Oh yeah, a full-body suit that she can use to control a robot and stomp around!

The flight from Vancouver to Victoria is eleven minutes. However, we sat on the plane waiting to go for about 45. After the flight was already delayed about an hour. The girls were doing great, even better when given M&Ms. I took some pictures, but Alice took about 400. I'll spare you most of those shots! :)

Hanging out with Uncle Keith
There was a LOT of swimming at the Fraass place. Alice loved being thrown up high into the air by her dad and/or uncle. Jane went from a few water skills to being able to swim unassisted! She didn't quite master being able to be in the deep end by herself, but we were all so impressed with how quickly she improved during our time there. Lots of going underwater to retrieve sinking toys!

Alice and Grandpa!
